East Cobb Saturday Fall Scrimmages at Kell High School

Friends,

East Cobb is starting up some Fall Scrimmages at Kell, starting this Saturday, and if you play lacrosse you are welcome to attend -- for FREE this weekend. We may even have a ref. These shenanigans will be immediately followed by cold beers and snacks off campus. There will be a cooler with ice for whoever chooses to bring their own (never a bad idea).

Ladies and kids are welcome to come hang. We're looking forward to meeting everyone Saturday.

After this weekend - if you'd like to continue getting a run in, we'd appreciate a $5.00 donation to help pay for the field. Well be running this through October 28th.

Last Summer 2017 Hogs Practice at Kell

Hogs hosted our last practice of the summer this past Sunday at Kell High School. Got some solid line drills in, followed by 6 vs. 6 and short field 7s.

We welcomed a few new players to the club this weekend. Tyler Young (Nichols College) at Attack, Tyler Randolph (Kean University) at Defense and Sumner Gantz (Piedmont College) at Midfield.

Also gave out our MVP Gnome Trophies to Matt McCarthy, GK (Tourney MVP, Pensacola 2017) and T.J. Smith, Midfield (Defense MVP, Blue Ridge Classic 2017).

We start back again on Labor Day weekend - be sure to drop us a line if you'd like to play Fall Lacrosse with East Cobb here.

Hogs place 4th at 2017 Asheville Blue Ridge Classic

Hog Friends-

Very strong showing at the tournament this year - the Hogs went 3-2, losing the semi-final to Greensboro LC to end our trip.  Weather was totally dialed in too. This was our 4th trip to this tournament, the Hogs have become a fixture - so much so that the host, Asheville LC, wants to make our Friday night game a permanent part of the BRC. Best trip to Asheville so far!

Hogs to play in 2017 Blue Ridge Classic

Your trusty Hedgehogs are bringing a well populated roster up to Asheville this month. We have least 20 midfielders, and will be subbing lines in every 30 seconds.

This is East Cobb's 4th visit to the Blue Ridge Classic, the South's premier Men's Open and Master's tournament - 32 teams on 4 fields. Not quite Placid, but also not in the middle of nowhere.

The Hogs will be playing in the "B" bracket - "B" stands for Beer. Last year the Hogs placed as a semi-finalist, losing our last game in the Championship to the eventual tournament winner and hosts, Asheville LC.

Games start on Friday evening, with bracket play over on Saturday. Top two teams from each 4 team group proceed to the Championship on Sunday. We'll be posting updates on our Facebook page.

Our opponents - lot of folks we've played over the past four years - new folks as well. Hat tip to the "A" bracket folks for some solid team names...

Memorial Day weekend Box Tourney in Nashvegas

Box Lacrosse in Nashville.

The Hogs, led by our favourite Canadian Matt Kristiansen, aka "Da Canada", made it up to Nashville to play the Nashville Ostriches and Oakville (Ont.) Roadwarriors in the Ostriches first "Canada vs. USA" Box Lacrosse Exhibition this past Saturday, May 27th.

East Cobb played very well - enduring even the sharpest of chirps from Andrew Flood, who may have refereed a game. Hats off to the hosts for a great idea and providing us with some extra players!

Besides Kristiansen, the other Hogs to make the trip were John McLaughlin, Isaiah Sims, Anthony Winters, Sky Dupree, Jon Watson, Phil Hammock, Andrew Queen, Ian Griffiths and Jared Hinds.
